Action Word Match (plus!)

Jun 11 2016

Copy of TheOf course we need to teach skills to individuals with autism. Things like taking turns, addition, spelling, etc. are skills are important. But also important are meta-skills – thinking about the way students with autism learn. And a meta-skill that can not be ignored is flexibility. Use today’s free autism resource to help reinforce flexible thinking.

This resource helps promote flexible thinking by providing 4 different ways to match  to pictures: words, definitions, rhymes, and objects. To use, circle one of these four boxes at the top of the worksheet to prompt students which words they are looking for. You may also want to cross out or obscure the other three boxes. Have the correct set of words available for your student to attach them to the boxes on the worksheet. Next time you do the worksheet, choose a new prompt to keep your teaching flexible!
